We usually meet on the second Wednesday of each month, at 7:30pm, at Bowburn Community Centre. Map

Our monthly meetings are open to all and have no charge for admission. Everyone’s welcome but please don’t attend if you have recently tested positive for COVID or have any of the symptoms of respiratory illness described in the national COVID advice

Wednesday 9th March, 2022 – AGM and Plant/Seed Swap

After a hiatus of nearly two years, our first get together will be a short AGM to elect a committee and officers.

Once we’ve completed the business of the AGM, the rest of the meeting will be devoted to a plant/seed swap and a general chat over a light buffet supplied by the club.

Bring along your spare plants or seeds to swap, but don’t worry if you don’t have any just yet.

Wednesday 13th April, 2022 – Gardening Talk

Dianne Nichol-Brown will be talking about Composts, Fertilisers and Soil Minerals and how to use them to improve growing conditions for our plants.

Wednesday 11th May, 2022 – Talk

Rachel Benson from Old Sleningford Farm will be joining us for a talk ‘Living the Good Life’ this month. Rachel will be describing life on a 17 acres smallholding in North Yorkshire where they:

Raise pigs, sheep, chickens, bees and occasionally geese and turkeys

and

Grow food in our Forest Garden, raised beds and polytunnel

There will be examples of preserved produce from the forest garden available.
